Who Won MasterChef Season 16? Finale Dates, the Final 3 and Every Elimination

Twenty home cooks. Four continents. One title that will not be handed out until the middle of the month.

Where it stands: the season 16 winner has not been crowned yet. Heidi Muston, Jake Kelley and Peter Egede are the final three, Finale Part 1 airs Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 8 p.m. ET on FOX, and the trophy and the $250,000 go to whoever survives Part 2 on Wednesday, Sept. 16. This page is where we will post the name the moment it airs.

Who won MasterChef season 16?

Nobody, yet — and if a site is telling you otherwise this week, it is guessing.

FOX split the season 16 ending across two Wednesdays, which is the detail that trips people up. Part 1 sends the three finalists into a three-course menu built from their own backgrounds, cooked in front of family and a studio audience. Part 2, a week later, is where the judges hand over the trophy.

Set two reminders, not one. Plenty of viewers who watched a two-part finale last season assumed the first night was the whole thing.

Who are the three MasterChef finalists?

They came out of the Sept. 2 semifinal, an hour that ran two eliminations back to back and cut the field from five to three.

Two of the three came up through Team Africa, which is unusual for a format built to spread its finalists across the map. Muston won an immunity pin earlier in the run for a cultural spin on eggs Benedict. Kelley captained the winning side of the restaurant takeover. Egede led the combined Africa-Americas team through the wedding challenge and then spent several weeks one plate away from going home.

What is the Global Gauntlet format?

Season 16 rebuilt the competition around heritage. Twenty cooks auditioned in four regional groups — Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa and the Americas — and each one cooked for a country, not just for themselves. Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich and Tiffany Derry judged. Production moved to Toronto.

The season also carried an unusually long gap. After episode 8 in early June, MasterChef went dark for six weeks while FOX cleared its schedule for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, then came back on July 15 and ran straight through to the finale.

Who has been eliminated from MasterChef season 16?

Seventeen cooks are gone. Here is the whole run, episode by episode, including the double eliminations that made the back half of the season move so fast.

How do I watch the MasterChef finale?

Live, it is FOX at 8 p.m. ET and PT, 7 p.m. CT — a broadcast network, so an antenna works, and so does any streaming package that carries your local FOX affiliate. If you miss it, both parts land on Hulu the next day.

Wednesday is a crowded night for this genre. Guy's Grocery Games takes the 9 p.m. hour on Food Network, and if your household splits between broadcast and cable, our guide to streaming Food Network covers which service carries what. The full autumn grid is in the fall 2026 cooking competition schedule.

What comes next once season 16 ends?

The competition calendar barely pauses. Halloween Baking Championship starts Sept. 14 on Food Network, and Hell's Kitchen season 25 premieres Sept. 24 on FOX with an all-under-25 cast. Over on Netflix, the American release window for The Great British Baking Show opens late this month.

One thing we have not done here is name the knives and pans on the MasterChef benches: FOX does not publish an equipment list for the finale, and we do not price something we cannot verify. What we can confirm is collected in our running gear list from cooking shows.
