That is the whole reason Part 2 exists. FOX cut the hour on Sept. 9 with three finalists mid-entrée and nobody sent home, so two of the three courses in this menu get graded tonight.
What time is the MasterChef finale on tonight?
Wednesday, Sept. 16, in the 8 p.m. hour on FOX. Season 16, episode 18, listed at 62 minutes — two minutes longer than a standard slot, which is worth knowing if you record it.

What still has to be cooked?
The finalists are building one three-course menu out of their own backgrounds, and last week only the first course landed. Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich and Tiffany Derry tasted three appetizers, said their piece, and then the episode ran out of clock with the entrée still on the stove.
So tonight opens where a normal finale would already be finishing: entrées to the pass, dessert after that, verdict last.
Who can still win MasterChef season 16?
All three. No cut happened in Part 1, which is unusual and is the detail most previews get wrong.

Read that column top to bottom and Kelley walks in ahead, Egede a half step back, Muston needing the entrée to reset the room. 👉 One course does not settle a three-course menu, and two of them are still unscored.
When was the winner announced?
It came at the end of the hour, close to 9 p.m. ET: Ramsay named Kelley, whose duck breast with mole poblano and sweet corn profiterole closed out a menu built around Mexico. The broadcast stopped at the winner and did not rank the other two. Three things to watch
- Dessert nerve. Pastry is where MasterChef finales usually crack — a tempered chocolate or a set custard fails in public, and there is no round after it.
- The salt notes. Two of three appetizers drew a seasoning comment. Judges tend to circle back to that on night two.
- Two from Africa. Muston and Egede both came out of the same regional division, in a bracket built to spread finalists across four continents.
